I used to stick with baby wash and things of that nature. After having my own I realized that stuff actually lasts forever. So now I usually stick with diapers and wipes!

This is the first time I have close friends who are about to have a baby so I don’t really have a “favorite” gift yet but I’m really hoping to make a diaper cake for my best friend and his wife and maybe knit a baby blanket for my other friends!

I actually like to give very practical gifts - fancy gadgets and cute linens are great, but there are really only a few things that a baby actually NEEDS… so my gifts usually relate to feeding, diapering or personal care (diapers, wipes, toiletries, grooming items, formula, bottles, etc.).

I agree with some of the other comments about practical gifts. I especially like to make gift baskets, and include a cute soft toy.

I usually give cloth diapers and an outfit. Even if the baby doesn’t wear cloth diapers, they make great burp cloths!

My favorite Baby Gift to give is Diapers and a Gift Certificate to Toys R us! This way Mom can get what she wants, but still has the Diapers!!! I also LOVE to give a Diaper CAKE!!
