Cool Down Hot Foods Quick

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

When you get your children’s food ready are you like me, either putting the fot bowls of food in the freezer or blowing like a mad woman on it?
Now, we have some help with the Mac & Cool Quick Cooling Dish.

dish.jpg

You fill the dish with 1 cup of water and keep it in the freezer, take it out and serve any hot food like macaroni & cheese, oatmeal or spaghetti and meatballs on it. It cools down a child’s dinner in less then 1 minute.
It has a great product rating and is only $5.95.
I am ordering two right away.

Baby Food Carrier

jar.jpg
If you have just a big bag you use as a diaper bag, which I know many ladies do to get away from that pastel baby look, then you need as much organizing help as you can.

This baby jar and food organizer does just the trick.

This is a microfiber tote with a carry handle and different compartments for your babys jar food and fruit cups. No more rattling bottle and jars in the bottom of the bag and no more worries of spilling your baby’s food.

Gerber Cereals recalled

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

productsm.jpg
Gerber just recalled their organic baby cereal because it may be a choking hazard. Yesterday they recalled all of the rice and oatmeal cereal because it can clump up and pose a choking hazard.

All codes of the two products, sold in 8-ounce boxes, are being recalled. The organic rice cereal UPC code is 15000 12504 and the organic oatmeal cereal UPC code is 15000 12502.

You should not feed your child any of this cereal and call Gerber at 1-800-443-7237 or 231-928-3000 to get a refund.

Lighted Nursing Pillow

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

bab.jpg

Every once in awhile I come across a baby products and I think, “It is not a necessity, but that is a great idea”. The Nurse-N-Glow lighted nursing pillow is one of those.

The pillow is for mothers who want to nurse in bed or perhaps co-sleep. It was designed by chiropractors to fit your baby comfortably. It has a LED light built in to give off a small glow when you do not want to try to latch on in the dark.
baby11.jpg

It would replace all those pillows on your bed and the dance you have to do to get everyone situated for a feeding.
It also has a pocket on the other side for essentials like creams or burp cloths. Perfect for people who do not have night tables.
It comes in two colors, yellow or blue.

Of course not a baby necessity, but it is a great idea.

Bibs

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

I am a HUGE fan of bibs, I mean what parent isn’t? I had so many bibs, girl bibs, boy bibs, fancy bibs, plastic bibs etc. I was a huge fan of disposable bibs and used them all the time. That way I didn’t have to cart a gross dirty bib home in the diaper bag and worry I will get other things in there dirty or forget about it for a week until the smell knocks me over.
302kipkipism.jpg
Kipiis are a great idea also. Keep these in your diaper bag and make any napkin or paper towel an instant bib! They come in cool colors and are $14.00 each which is a little steep but think of the money you will save on bibsters!
Come to think of it, I bet you can make your own kipiis, if you do email me to let me know what you used and how it turned out!

Trays For Kids

Monday, May 28th, 2007

It was hard for me to find the right plates when my kids were old enough to eat by themselves in a high chair. I went to storytime at the pottery barn kids by my house and I found these cafeteria style trays.

tray.jpg
They are great for kids just learning to eat from a plate and my kids still love them now. They can have different food in different compartments which my kids like and I use one compartment as a dip station for ketchup, yogurt or dressing, depending what they are eating.

They are melamine and are dishwasher safe but not microwave safe which is why I have mixed feelings about melamine. It is durable for outdoor eating, it does not stain and it comes in four different colors, and they have bowls sold separately also.

These trays are great, and I am sure your kids will love them as much as you do.

Disposable Cups

Monday, May 14th, 2007

cup.gif
When you have a toddler and you are on the go, moms know that things get lost easily. Toddler throw their pacifiers, toys, socks, anything and everything that you give them.

I lost many a sippy cup this way especially because with my twins when one through something so did the other. Sippy cups are expensive, so I was thrilled when they started making take & toss sippy cups.

They are sturdy enough not to squish in toddler’s hands and come in different characters, but you are not worried when does not make it home with you. They have some with straws for bigger kids and sippy lids for the younger set.
I used these when when went to Disney World and it was perfect for the beach, my in-laws house or at the playground.
Now more trying to angle something into the sippy lid to clean it all out, now if it gets gross just toss it!

I highly recommend these cups.

High Chairs for Stylish Parents

Friday, May 11th, 2007

chair.jpgAre you in the market for a high chair but you don’t have room for a big clunky one? Maybe your house has a cool retro theme and you would love your baby gear to match that theme. I have some suggestions for high chairs that will fit the bill.

These high chairs are cool and sleek looking and very minimalist. The tray even comes off for your bigger kids so they can sit at the table with you. It is for kids 6 months old to 6 years and comes in three color choices.

Looking for something a little less retro and more modern?

highchair.jpgThis high chair from Sweden also grows with your child. It is sleek and comes in four different wood choices. It is both functional and beautiful.

Safe Sippy Cups

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

foogo.jpgDid you know that plastic sippy cups can leach harmful chemicals into your baby’s drink? It is true. Plastic has harmful chemicals in it and when you give a child a plastic sippy cup those chemicals can be ingested. But I recently came across a good alternative and it is very attractive to boot! These stainless steel sippy cups are called Foogo from Thermos. The inner liners and the outer container is stainless steel and the lid is polypropylene and is BPA free…so no toxins to leach into your baby’s drink. This would be a great cup to put breastmilk in and keep it fresh with this cup’s vaccum insulation. They are safe to put in the dishwasher and they have a sleek and cool ergonomic design. These look they are made to last.

Fresh Food Feeder

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

Fresh Food FeederThe Fresh Safe Feeder is a 3 part feeding tool for babies and young toddlers. It consists of a soft mesh bag which food is placed in, a plastic ring collar and a round handle that the bag and collar screw on to that baby can hold it themselves.

The feeder is wonderful for babies who have started on solid foods but who don’t have a lot of teeth. You can place a bit of chopped carrot, apple, grape, orange or other foods that might ordinarily be a choking hazard for your baby into the Feeder and your little one can enjoy fresh raw fruits and vegetables safely. This is more nutritious but also preferable to some babies who don’t like the texture of mushy baby food or who prefer to self feed. It also saves you money. You might not have to buy baby food at all if you use the feeder

Review: My babies loved using this product. I also loved it because it made feeding solids easier and stress free for me. I didn’t have to worry about the baby choking but I also didn’t have to mush everything and spoon feed either. Babies who are old enough to hold onto the feeder enjoy feeding themselves with it.

One of my favorite uses was during teething. I would put a frozen strawberry into the feeder and baby would gum it. They loved the flavor but it also provided instant teething relief and something to gnaw on other than my fingers!

The feeder is also easy to clean. Just unscrew the collar, take the pouch out and throw the 3 pieces into the dishwasher and you’re done.
