Smaller Shoes

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

I love good shoes for myself as well as my kids. A child’s foot grows so fast that they need goo support, a flexible sole and one that will not leave them with blisters or red marks. I am not a fan of cartoon light up shoes, I love adorable, funky shoes. These are getting easier to find for my older two, but for a pre-walker or a walker? Not so easy.

See Kai Run shoes are the answer I have been looking for. The mom behind See Kai Run shoes found it difficult to find comfortable shoes with flexible soles for her little boy , Kai. So she created them and she made them hip, bold and fun. These are shoes with ultra-flexible soles, soft leather and wide toe box. Our footwear meets the American Podiatric Medical Association’s rigorous standards for foot health and functionality and has been awarded the APMA’s prestigious Seal of Acceptance. Padded collar adds comfort and helps the shoes stay on little feet!

They now have a new line of shoes called “smaller” which are made especially for babies 0-18 months! We have the Jake pair and they are so sweet and beautifully made. We love them as much as we love our Eleven shoes!

Perfect for back to school, for the newest walker in your house, a baby shower gift or just because, See Kai Run are amazing shoes. Now if they would just make shoes for adults, I would be all set!

Heelarious or Heelno?

Monday, June 30th, 2008

kaylanew.jpg

File these baby slippers under “waste of money”. Heelarious are baby high heeled slippers for infants. Available in hot pink and black patent and zebra and leopard satin these heels are $35.00 a pop. These are being billed as “her first high heels” are meant for babies under six months old and as a joke and not intended to be walked in (the heels collapse if pressure is put on them).

I am not sure what is worse spending $35 on crib shoes for a baby who will grow out of them in a matter of weeks or spending all that money as a “joke” crib shoe. What do you think? Would you buy them for your pint size fashionista or would you file that under “thanks but no thanks!”?

Great Shoes for Kids

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

hdr-logo.jpg
I always remember how my mother would trot us out to our local Stride Rite every August to buy my sister and I new shoes for school. She would always tell us how important good shoes are for growing kids. There are so many shoe brands for kids out there now, and finding one that is really great is not that easy. I have found that one for you.

hdr-home21.jpg

Eleven Shoes are some of the best kid shoes I have ever seen. Eleven is a sister company with See Kai Run, another great children’s shoe company. See Kai Run shoes are made for prewalkers and walkers, infants and toddler sizes 3-9, but Eleven shoes are for older kids with sizes 9-1.
Every Eleven shoe has its upper and interior lining constructed from premium leather this is just so soft. That coupled with the padded insoles, makes the shoes breathable and comfortable for your children. The styles are timeless and classic and it is great quality footwear.

What I also like about this collection is that I think some of the shoes would be great for either a boy or a girl. That means hand me downs of the Rio shoes my daughter has to her little brother. We have received many compliments on these shoes since my daughter started wearing them. The only thing I don’t like about Eleven shoes is that they don’t come in my size, I would love a pair! Go get your kids a pair or three, these are great for back to school, and I know you are counting the days until that!

Cute Baby Feet

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

The fact that I am seven months pregnant and I have not purchased anything for this baby yet, I think it is a miracle. When I was pregnant with my twins I bought hundreds of dollars worth of clothes and gear by this time. Not knowing what sex the baby is helps with the not shopping thing, but I am obsessed with looking at baby gear for my baby online. I love looking at what shoes, slippers and foot wear I will order once this baby arrives in March.

foot.jpg

You all know, I love Etsy and every day I find a new reason to love it. LOOK at these baby slippers! My ovaries are aching just looking at them. These are handmade felt bird baby slippers are fully lined, with elasticized straps to help them stay on. They are also hand embroidered. They come in goldfish, penguins or chickens too. These are a must have for my new little one!

I must have something going on with birds and slippers because these are darling too! They are made with wool felt for the uppers and recycled leather for the soles. Perfect for cold winter days in the house. She has them in different colors and styles too. They come in sizes 6 weeks to 24 months.

Lastly, check out these polka dot booties. They are hand stitched and are for babies 0-3 months and are only $14.00. She also has various styles and patterns for your little one.

Baby Mocs

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

trumpette_babymocs_med.jpg

Now that I am pregnant, we decided we did not want to know the sex of teh baby. We found out the sex last time after we found out we were having twins. That was enough of a surprise for us. Now I want to find out because I want to buy something for the baby!
I hate the unisex green frog onsies and the yellow duckie hats. I want something for a girl or a boy.

These shoes are reason enough to find out the sex. Teeny tiny patent leather mocs in a rainbow of colors is enough to make me go out and buy an ultrasound machine! These are for babies 2-24 months. They are not cheap at $30.00 but girls love their shoes don’t they!

Best Baby Shoes

Thursday, October 11th, 2007

shoe.jpg

Shoes are crucial for baby’s foot development and to help them when they are just starting to walk. Shoes before they walk are unnecessary but look cute and do keep the baby’s foot warm. My daughter loves shoes as much as I do and we are always looking for great, stylish, comfortable shoes for both of my children.

Umi shoes were named by Consumer Reports as one of the “Best Baby Products”. They were one of their top recommendations for a first shoe. Umi was recognized for their shoes’ flexibility and traction. They offer shoes for every stage of development.

Umi’s shoes are handcrafted and are as cute as they are functional. They have many styles to chose from and are no more expensive as buying shoes at Stride Rite.

Little Firefighter

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

When I was pregnant my mother in law knit the babies each a sweater and hat. It is one of my favorite gifts to date. I love handmade things.
When I came across these handmade booties on Etsy (my favorite online shop!) I had to figure out who I can buy them for!
booties.jpg

They are handmade firefighter booties for babies 0-6 months. They are made with soft acrylic yarn that does not shrink or fade with washing. They also can be made in various colors. You can buy a couple because at $8.00 each they are affordable.
She also makes mary jane booties (I LOVE!) and high top sneaker booties. These are so cute they make you want to have another baby!

Soft Sole Shoes from Robeez

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

Peas in a Pod Shoes from RobeezI am a big fan of sole shoes and my little ones have several pairs. When wearing these super soft shoes, baby’s feet are better able to grip and this helps little feet develop foot strength. Soft soles allow freedom of movement and allow the foot to flex. They are the next best thing to walking barefoot, offering a protective and comfortable layer over tender baby feet.

My babies have worn many different brands of soft sole shoes and one of the best is Robeez. They have adorned on baby feet for over 12 years and they are the standard for excellence. Easy to slip-on, they stay-on with an elasticized ankle band. Skid-resistant textured suede soles, these slip-ons are washable by hand or machine and are made with durable, quality leather and lined uppers, and soft and comfortable leather that cushions and protects. They come in a large variety of sizes and can be worn by babies from infancy all the way to 3-4 years.

The above shoes are Robeez Infants’ Peas In A Pod Slip On Shoes. For your little sweet pea, three green peas are cozy in their little lime pods. These lovable legumes feature sleepy eyes, stitched green vines and scalloped ankle bands. Adorable!

If you are looking for more design options you won’t be dissapointed. A few other options include Monkeys, Dinosaurs, Geckos, and Dragonflies.
