Bamboo Clothing For Baby

Friday, June 27th, 2008

20_small.jpg
I was lucky enough to try some bamboo clothing for baby K from Bamboosa. Bamboosa makes clothing out of bamboo fiber blended with organic cotton for everyone in your family. The material is so super soft, it is hard to tell it isn’t silk! Bamboo is also anti-bacterial, breathable and biodegradable and Bamboosa uses eco-friendly dyes and 100% recycled paper in their packaging.

Bamboosa has an adorable assortment of products for your baby. Everything is super soft, easy to wash and is perfect for baby’s skin. I love the products so much I have to order the fine jersey sleep slip for myself as well as crib sheets for my little one.

29_large.jpg

Bamboosa is a sweatshop-free company, and all its clothing is produced in a factory in Andrews, South Carolina. Why it took so long for bamboo to be a resource in making clothing, I am not sure but I will be purchasing bamboo clothing from bamboosa for my whole family. This is great for my older son who has very sensitive skin.
If you are looking for a baby gift idea, check out their great baby gift sets or purchase a gift certificate for a new mom or as a gift for anyone on your list. You will not be disappointed with bamboo clothing or Bamboosa.

BioMe5

todshortsleeve-pp.png

The bioME 5 Animal Alphabet Project was created by two architectural designers who are inspired by the visual learning processes inherent in all children. They have recently launched a line of infant wear. Their new onesies, sized 3-6 months and 6-12 months, are shrunken down versions of their popular toddler tees. You will feel great dressing your kids in this line of environmentally friendly clothes, they are made with 100% certified, undyed and unbleached organic cotton made in sweatshop-free facilities in the U.S. Their packaging is environmentally friendly also, your items come in biodegradable plastic bags that take less time to biodegrade in the landfills.

Now for the fun part, each shirt teaches children about the animals that are printed on their shirt along with the corresponding letter. Each name of the animal is The reading theme printed upside down so the child can read their own shirt easily. How cute is that?

We have the jaquar onesie for baby K and he looks so cute in it. It washes well and it is super soft. These shirts come in sizes 3-6 month up to 6T. I think they run a little small so if you are in doubt, I would buy a size up. The baby is a little young to read but my older two love to read the upside down letters on K’s shirt. I am going to have to buy them each one because they love animals and they love K’s shirt.

Both the original tees and the new onesies include large letters and exciting animals in vibrant colors. Both the short sleeve tees and the onesies retail for $32, and shipping is free on online orders. Hurry, right now the long sleeve tees are 50% off!

Personalized Gifts for Baby

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

pinklotus_sm.jpg
I love personalized items and I especially love them for my kids. Plus, what child doesn’t love something with their name on it? This makes the company Two Tinas perfect one stop personalized shopping.
I am in love with the my name stroller blankets by Two Tinas. They have designs that are so fun and grow with your child. These are not just baby blankets. They also carry extra sweet, monogrammed blankets in great patterns. All Two Tinas blankets are custom monogrammed with baby’s initial so delivery can take a couple of weeks. Blanket size is approximately 29″x29″. They wash well and are perfect for a stroll outside, a nap or tummy time inside.

Two Tinas also carries personalized onesies. These are so soft and are made with pre-shrunk cotton with whimsical designs like a crown or angle wings on the back (my personal fav). Two Tinas are hot and they have something for every baby. Perfect for a new baby or for your own little prince or princess.

Ooh La La Mama

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

vintagelovessdressweb.jpg

It seems to be hard these days to find great baby and kid clothing that doesn’t have some saying that is not appropriate for kids, or is unique. I love finding great clothing for my kids but I am not willing to break the bank to do it either, especially the way my kids grow! Regular readers will also know how I love mom owned businesses. Ooh La La Mama has great clothing for kids and was created in the end of 2006 by wife and husband team, Cindy Parker and Scott Stoughton.

What makes Ohh La La Mama clothing are so unique for kids are the front and back (they use a full-color printing process that is really pretty and extends to both the front and back) real photo designs and fabulous graphics. Finally your kids can be as hip as you wish you were! Perfect for my pint size fashionistas!
My kids love the clothing as much as I do because the ply-cotton blend is soft and comfortable. My son loves his shirt because “it is a cool rock ‘n roll shirt!” my daughter loves her dress because it has a “heart on it and pretty sleeves!”. The onesies are so adorable, my baby looks so cute in it.

These are works of art not just shirts. Check out Ooh La La Mama for your own children’s clothes, a great baby shower or birthday gift for that edgy and different style. Go order some great apparal (from 3 months to size 6) and enter their photo contest for a chance to win $250 of clothing for your little one! I am off to upload our pictures today!

Organic for Baby

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

With my newest baby I am not looking for quantity of clothing, since we are already busting at the closets with the other two kids, but quality. I want clothing that is soft for my baby and earth friendly. A few choice pieces is great for us, as we all know how quickly babies grow out of clothing! The great people at Kate Quinn organics were nice enough to send me a few pieces of clothing for my baby and I am in love.

pt_e241.jpg
Kate Quinn organics makes stylish clothing and they are made from the finest 100% certified organic fabrics. The clothing is super soft, and made from all-natural, organically produced cotton certified by Control Union Certifications. Plus, all the clothing has been certified Fair Trade.

Surely I cannot be the only one that thinks babies look so cute in kimono tops? My son is wearing the peacock onesie right now and I love it!
They don’t just offer baby clothing, they have accessories and clothing for toddlers as well. They also offer blankets and hooded towels. If you are buying a gift and are not sure about the sizing, they now offer gift certificates.
Plus women’s clothing is coming soon! I can’t wait for that.

I love this clothing for my children and I know you will too. It washes well and holds up to a busy baby. Although, I do suggest buying a size up because my son is only two months old and almost out of the 3-6 month size onesie.

Bling for Baby

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

There are many cute things for girls these days. Of course, everyone knows it is easier to buy clothes for a girl then a boy, it just seems like there is more out there. When you find something cute, you have to stick with it because you don’t know where you will find it again! Baby Bling is one of those things.

arrived_large.jpg

Bling Baby has great * bling* items for boys. The great people at Bling Baby sent my son a cute onesie with his name in bling. It is adorable on and we love it. They also sell hats, pacifier clips and burp cloths with bling on them. I may be biased though, because I love personalized items for babies and kids. Get a shirt with your child’s name on it or their nickname.
They don’t just have items for boys though, check out all they have for girls. These shoes alone make me want to have another baby!
Go get your baby some bling!

Earth Friendly, Positive Tees For Baby

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

genius.jpg

Loyal readers of this site know that I love organic and I love mom owned businesses. I think organic is the way to go and as I change over my household to be “greener”, I incorporate more organic clothing into our lives. Green apple baby is a great example of not only a mom owned company but sells organic, well made clothing as well.

Made from 100% cotton and with water based inks, these USA made tee shirts for babies and toddlers have inspirations sayings. Get one that says “I am loved” or “I am a genius”. These shirts are super soft and comfortable for kids. They held up in the wash well and I can’t wait to put my new son in them.

These make a great new baby gift or are perfect for a baby shower. Go green and you can start with Green Apple Baby!

Baby Shirts That Inspire

Monday, March 17th, 2008

product_thumb.jpg
I am not a fan of a lot of shirts with sayings on them for baby and kids. A Tee with “my mom is better then your mom” is really not my idea of cute on a child. It seems these shirts are everywhere now and I see my share of them on the playground. That is why I was so happy to find dreamkids.ca.

Dream Kids was created by a mom and child development expert to celebrate and inspire our children. They were nice enough to send me one of their most popular onesies and I love it. Not only is “Here to change the world” the most perfect saying for a shirt on a newborn but it is soft and very well made. These are perfect for infants to toddlers sizes 3-6 months to 6T.
Buy one for a new baby, birthday or shower gift and you will be asked by all the parents where you got it!

Keeping Kids on Their Feet

Monday, March 10th, 2008

stickongrippies.jpg

When babies learn to walk we all know how unsteady they are. We make sure they have a clear path, we baby proof everything within their reach and we make sure they are as steady on their feet as they can be. That is why Grippies are a great product for all parents.

I always buy socks with grippers on the bottom, but now that my kids are bigger they are harder and harder to find. That is where Grippies come in. Grippies can be put on socks or tights and give kids the traction that they need. They are machine washable and easy to apply.
These are not just for kids either, I would love them on some of my slippery heels and my mother was looking for just this thing for my Grandmother when she was in a nursing home.
Try them for yourself!

Personalized Clothing for Kids

Friday, March 7th, 2008

I loved personalized things when I was young. I think all kids do, they make them feel special. I try to get some personalized things for my children and to keep in their rooms. Today I want to share some great personalized items you can get for your kids or for gifts.

diap.jpg
Personalization cannot start too early, that is why I love these personalized diaper covers! Cute poly/cotton blend eyelet trimmed diaper covers with your baby’s name or initials on it. Adorable for dressy occasions and perfect for a new baby gift.
This online store also has personalized, burp clothes, tanks, hats, hair bows, shirts, totes and my favorite: headbands.

I bought my daughter an initial tee shirt form this store and she loves it. Get a shirt with your child’s age on it or their initial. They are so cute and made with great materials that hold up to a five year old. These run true to size so order a size up if your child grows as fast as mine does!

tee.jpg
Lastly, who wouldn’t want this tee shirt? You can actually write on the front with chalk and it is machine washable. It even comes with chalk! Let your child show the world how (s)he feels today. Order one for your child and one for a gift at these prices!

These are all great personalized ideas for your child, as a birthday gift or for a baby shower. What personalized items do your kids have that they love?

BabyLegs

media.gif

I wanted to potty train my kids in the summer for obvious reasons, I knew there were going to be accidents and I figured the less clothes they had on the better.
Of course, they were not ready to train in the summer but as soon as it turned cold and grey here in New Jersey the kids were all ready and able to learn to use the potty.
I wanted to keep them warm but not sweat me out of the house at the same time. I bought the kids these baby leg warmers.

Not only are they adorable but they kept my children’s legs warm and I didn’t have to pull any pants down in our rush to get onto the potty.

After they were potty trained they worked very well with all of my daughter’s skirts and we even did a little flashdancer tribute and put them on over some stretch pants.

They are a good idea for babies learning to crawl also, no more bruised knees!

Eco-Friendly Baby Gear

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

I love to support mom owned businesses and when I come across one that I think has amazing products, I like to scream about it from the rooftops. That is what I found with Babybam.

tee.gif
Jody a mom who has two children with a milk allergy and sensitive skin was frustrated with the lack of “cute” and “pure” apparel on the market for infants. She did her own research and came across bamboo a natural hypo-allergenic and antibacterial fabric. It is soft and doesn’t shrink like cotton.
I received a bamboo and cotton pajama that may be the softest baby pajama I have ever felt. It is natural in color using no bleach or dye and has their catch phrase on the front, dream, believe, giggle. Baby Bam also offers towels, washcloths, onesies, pants and organic soaps for baby.

Go check out babybamcollection.com and pick out something wonderful for your little one that is eco-friendly. They have great gift ideas for showers and for new baby gifts!

Clothing

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

Are you stocking up on baby clothes now that the stores are getting ready to put out their spring lines? This is a great time to stock up on clothes and I am going crazy not knowing what sex this baby is because the baby gear is going cheap! Determining size may be hard but too big is better then too little so when in doubt size up. Also remember winter birthdays and stock up for your future gifts.

The Children’s Place is having a monster sale right now and they have cute baby clothing. Use coupon code S1A18 through February 10th for an additional 15% off.
Carters is having a super sale with sale items $3.99 to $5.99. They have the cutest, snuggliest infants clothing. Remember to also stock up on blankets, towels, socks, pajamas and they even have shoes!

rufflebutt_fuchsia_sm.jpg
Ok, these are not on sale but I have to talk about ruffle butts. Ruffle butts are a cute, sassy clothing company for little girl’s clothing. Check out these ruffle butt bloomers. Pair it with a plain old t shirt or just a ruffle butt over her diaper and she is ready to go! So sweet! Made with 100% super soft t-shirt knit cotton and comes in a ton of colors for $16.00. They also have ruffle butts super comfy pants for $26.00 to $30.00 or onesies for $26.00. They also have the cutest sundresses I have seen in a long time.

Have fun stocking up for spring and winter while I wait to finish gestating so I can buy some things that are not green or yellow!
