Shoes for a small baby are just a waste of money in my opinion. Sure they look cute but they have no function. What if I told you there was a alternative to cute shoes for your baby? Meet Jazzy Toes. The Jazzy Toes collection includes 12 unique baby sock designs, Sandals, Wingtips, Sneakers, Cowboy Boots, Loafers, and Deck Shoes for boys and Sandals, Spectators, Sneakers, Cowgirl Boots, Loafers and Mary Janes for girls.

Jazzy Toes socks come packaged in a cute little ready-to-mail gift box that’s environmentally-friendly with 6 pairs in each box. The socks come in a great variety of colors and are made in two sizes, 0-12 months and 12-24 months.
They really are adorable and although we have the sneaker set for baby K, I have to have the loafer and sandal sets too!

A Baby Gift That Helps The Environment

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

tree.jpg

I am always looking for a great baby gift. Sometimes you don’t know what the parents already have or you have to wait until the baby is born to go out and get a gender appropriate gift. I found a wonderful baby gift for a boy or a girl. This grow a tree kit that includes everything you’ll need to plant a tree for the new arrival that will grow up right along with the baby. It comes with baby tree seeds (blue spruce), decorative tin pail, fertilizer stick, tree protector, mulch, tree stake and a ceramic plaque for engraving baby’s name in a beautiful gift box.

You will feel great about giving this gift, it is an environmentally friendly product, but a portion of the proceeds is also donated to organizations dedicated to the planting of trees and the development of wildlife habitat.
The price is great at $19.99.

dabib.jpg

There are a ton of bibs on the market today, but they are usually the same old thing. Dabib is different, it has a unique “scrunch collar” that minimizes leakage of liquids and solid foods onto the baby’s clothing. Any mother knows this means less stains on clothing and that means less laundry! Dabib is made with super absorbent micro fiber terry front and a waterproof back.

DaBib was just chosen by San Francisco Daily Candy edition as one of only five MUST have items for new moms. Great Shoes for Kids

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

hdr-logo.jpg
I always remember how my mother would trot us out to our local Stride Rite every August to buy my sister and I new shoes for school. She would always tell us how important good shoes are for growing kids. There are so many shoe brands for kids out there now, and finding one that is really great is not that easy. I have found that one for you.

hdr-home21.jpg

Eleven Shoes are some of the best kid shoes I have ever seen. Eleven is a sister company with See Kai Run, another great children’s shoe company. See Kai Run shoes are made for prewalkers and walkers, infants and toddler sizes 3-9, but Eleven shoes are for older kids with sizes 9-1.
Every Eleven shoe has its upper and interior lining constructed from premium leather this is just so soft. That coupled with the padded insoles, makes the shoes breathable and comfortable for your children. The styles are timeless and classic and it is great quality footwear.

What I also like about this collection is that I think some of the shoes would be great for either a boy or a girl. That means hand me downs of the Rio shoes my daughter has to her little brother. We have received many compliments on these shoes since my daughter started wearing them. The only thing I don’t like about Eleven shoes is that they don’t come in my size, I would love a pair! Go get your kids a pair or three, these are great for back to school, and I know you are counting the days until that!

Personlized Placemats for Kids

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

pl-sand-421.jpg
I loved personalized things as a child and now so do my kids. They only want to use the cups with their names on it, or their name tooth brushes and always look for personalized items when we are out.
It was great when my twins were learning their letters and then to spell things, because they recognized the letters in their name.

Olive Kids has great things for children of all ages and one of them is personalized placemats for children. Olive Kids placemats are thick, durable and will withstand being used over and over again by children. They measure 12” x 18” and are made with heavyweight laminate for easy clean-up.

They have the cutest patterns to chose from. Trains, outer space, Under construction, tea party, pirates, race cars, butterfly, sand castle, flower, holiday and many, many more!

At $9.99 they make perfect birthday or holiday gifts and you can get a few for each child. They even have a five pack of assorted mats. They are a great alternative to the character-based entertainment licenses. They have more classic designs that kids all love.

They also have other personalized items like personalized clocks, gorgeous name and art prints, floor pillows and book marks. These are great for decorating a child’s room or nursery or for gifts. Check out Olive kids today, I am sure you will find many things that will keep you going back!
What are your children’s favorite personalized items?

A Luxurious Baby Blanket

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

41he-anbeul__ss400_.jpg

A couple of months ago I was lucky enough to win a terrific blanket from the Cariboo company. The Cariboo company along with Puretec™ New Zealand have created the first 100% wool nursery blanket, the Cariboo Earth Puretec Blanket. I didn’t know what to do with this beautiful blanket, It is such a luxurious baby item, should I really use it for my baby who may spit up or, worse yet, poop on it?

This blanket is so soft and really feels lightweight, but is very warm. It is not a typical scratchy wool blanket. The blankets come in
five colors: natural (the one I have), chocolate, blue, sage and pink. They are 100% natural, completely hypo-allergenic, eco dye colored, anti-itch, formaldehyde free, naturally fire-retardant and environmentally sustainable. This one measures 30 x 30. The Cariboo company also makes a larger blanket that measures 44 x 48 and is $159.95.

This is not a cheap blanket at $99.99. The cream colored blanket is so soft looking as well as soft to the touch (important when you are buiying a blanket for your baby!) and the chocolate color is so rich looking. Those are my two favorite colors of this blanket, but the pink, blue or sage are great baby gift colors. The quality is worth it if you can afford it or it can make a great baby shower gift, even if you chip in with someone! Any mother would like this blanket for their baby.

Bling for Baby

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

There are many cute things for girls these days. Of course, everyone knows it is easier to buy clothes for a girl then a boy, it just seems like there is more out there. When you find something cute, you have to stick with it because you don’t know where you will find it again! Baby Bling is one of those things.

arrived_large.jpg

Bling Baby has great * bling* items for boys. The great people at Bling Baby sent my son a cute onesie with his name in bling. It is adorable on and we love it. They also sell hats, pacifier clips and burp cloths with bling on them. I may be biased though, because I love personalized items for babies and kids. Get a shirt with your child’s name on it or their nickname.
They don’t just have items for boys though, check out all they have for girls. These shoes alone make me want to have another baby!
Go get your baby some bling!

Jewerly for Moms and Teethers!

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Babies love to put everything in their mouths, all moms know that. Babies will put any fuzz, piece of food or even your hair in their mouths, just like a puppy! In addition to having to wear my hair back, I had to limit my jewelry wearing when I had the twins because any dangle earrings, or necklace went right into their mouths. Gross and dangerous!
Now there is jewelry that is not only adorable, but is OK for babies to put into their mouths.

bbdiscinbox33.jpg
Smartmom jewelry makes non-toxic, phthalate free, silicone teething jewelry for mom. The material is non-toxic, latex-free, food–safe, even dishwasher-friendly.
Whether it is a pendant or a matching bangle bracelets, all are cute for mom and safe for baby. No more picking up the teethers from the floor and having to clean them off before you can give them back to your child, now they are attached to you.
I also love that this is a mom owned business!
The best part of it?

I love my teething bling and I have had so many other mothers come up to me and asking me what they were and where I got them from.
Now, if you order any of the Teething Bling pendants and they will automatically add a matching bangle for free.
Go order away, they make great shower gifts. With Mother’s Day coming up get some for your babysitters, Grandmothers or Aunts.
Plus, they are a perfect way to keep a teething baby occupied!

Best Of….Baby Gear

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

heart.jpg
If I don’t go into labor sooner, I will be having this baby via c-section this morning. Since I won’t be around for a while, while I take care of my newborn and five year old twins, I decided to share with you some of my favorite baby gear. Here are some reviews on things that I cannot live without and things I know you will enjoy:

I love this monitor and will use it for years, they are not just for newborns!

There is nothing like a good swaddling baby blanket.

This nest egg has helped me sleep at night which is a luxury when you are nine months pregnant. I think it will be a great help with breastfeeding too. Go get your own with the coupon, even if you are not pregnant this is great for kids or for travel!

We are trying to be more green in our house and what better timing then when a new baby comes!?

I love these products for Mom. The names and packaging are so cute that I would buy them for that alone! They really smell good too.

I think this is great for the summer. I know I would have to get it if I lived in a state that was hot all year round.

I love this thermometer and couldn’t live without it. Plus it is so much cheaper then it was new to the market and I bought it!

Keeping Kids on Their Feet

Monday, March 10th, 2008

stickongrippies.jpg

When babies learn to walk we all know how unsteady they are. We make sure they have a clear path, we baby proof everything within their reach and we make sure they are as steady on their feet as they can be. That is why Grippies are a great product for all parents.

I always buy socks with grippers on the bottom, but now that my kids are bigger they are harder and harder to find. That is where Grippies come in. Grippies can be put on socks or tights and give kids the traction that they need. They are machine washable and easy to apply.
These are not just for kids either, I would love them on some of my slippery heels and my mother was looking for just this thing for my Grandmother when she was in a nursing home.
Try them for yourself!

Better Burp Cloths

Friday, February 8th, 2008

product-bubbles_coral.jpg
Babies are so cute and cuddly but kids sure can produce some gross things from their bodies! There are some things moms know they cannot live without like diapers, wipes, washcloths and burp cloths for those big messes babies can make. Some of these things are great as is, but others could use a little improving, like burp cloths, I wish I knew about the burp catcher when I had my twins, but I am not prepared for this new baby!

The burp catcher was invented by a Mom (as all great things are!) and a re a new and improved form of a burp cloth. Burp Catcher has an ingenious pocket that hangs open to catch baby’s spit up before it hits your new sweater, carpet or someone else! They come in fleece or flannel and a ton of colors and patterns to chose from.
Go pick one up for yourself or for a baby gift.
Every mother will love this!

The Greatest Shower Gift

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

I turn down many things that people want me to review for various reasons, then there are some web sites that I see that I would love to review and I know how lucky I am to get the chance. The American Terry Co. is one of those web sites. Everything they have is amazing and I am now a true believer in American Terry Co.

lugg.jpg
The new baby box is enough to make me want four more babies. It comes with a generous sized terry hooded towel, toddler bib, a cloth for burps or to us as a wash cloth, an adorable rubber ducky all packed in a sweet vintage suitcase that I know I will use again and again. All of it was in the “wink” print which is perfect for those mothers who don’t know the sex of their baby. All the products are made with Turkish terry and are the most soft and absorbent 100% cotton I have felt.

They have many other gift sets choices, these beach buckets are going to be my go to gift for all the toddlers in my life, they are a perfect! If you think all they have is children’s products you would be wrong, they have colorful robes for babies, teens, men and women. They also have custom embroidery! Everyone loves a gift with their names, logo or monogram on it. Check out their web site and you will find great gift ideas for baby shower, kid’s birthdays or even pick out a plush robe for your spouse for Valentine’s Day!
Also check out their new organic line due out in February.

Swaddling Never Looked So Good!

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

There is nothing better then the sight of a cute little newborn swaddled in a blanket. My ovaries ache just thinking about it! My twins, like most babies, loved to be swaddled tightly but I was always worried about overheating. SIDS is a huge concern for any parent and overheating a baby with many layers in the winter is something you do not want to do in order to prevent SIDS.

blank.gif
The amazing people at adenandanais.com sent me a one of their swaddling blankets and I am in love. Their amazing muslin fabric blankets are like swaddling your baby in the softest gauze you can imagine. The 100% muslin cotton keeps baby warm without overheating baby like many heavier blankets can.
They are very large at 47′ x47′ so you can use it as a blanket for a toddler or double it over for swaddling a newborn. I think this would also make a great nursing cover in a pinch!
They have various patterns and color choices for boys, girls or unisex. They come in a set of four for $44.00 or in a gift pack of two for $29.95.

They offer many other items on their web site also like hooded towels, washcloths and their new dream muslin blankets. This is a perfect gift for a new mother or for a shower gift. This blanket is light enough that they are perfect for summer babies.
I can see myself using this blanket with my new little one all the time. I had better order more!

You Will Want One of Your Own!

Friday, December 14th, 2007

gigig.jpg

I still have my favorite baby blanket, it is tucked away in one of my drawers. My sister still has hers and my kids still sleep with their favorite baby blankets too. Those favorite “lovies” you have as a child are some of your favorite memories. If you are looking for a great lovie for your child or for just an amazing blanket, look no further.

The gigi blanket company has the greatest blankies I have ever seen. The security blanket is perfect size for small hands and a perfect size for the diaper bag or your purse. They have a soft nubby side and a smooth silky side. Chose the fabric you love most for each side!
Born out of one mothers frustration on finding the perfect blanket for her daughter, Gigi makes blankets, burpis and even tooth fairy cases. Check them all out, their prices will not break the bank.

I know this blanket will be my new baby’s favorite and I am already planning on buying more once the baby arrives.
Now, if they only made one for adults!

Use the coupon code “gigiships!” to get free shipping on all orders
now through December 18th!
The last order date for gigis to arrive by Christmas is by noon on Tuesday, December 18th
