Decorating Baby’s Nursery

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

img_1414

I love the way our nursery looks with our wall decals. We painted the room a blue great and have two simple birds on top of the window and one who sits on a big K right in the middle of the room. It is simple and perfect.
I used Elephannie’s shop for all my wall decals including a princess for my daughter and the solar system for my other son. She does great work and is very affordable.
I was looking online today for some more idea on decorating the rest of my house and found Mae on what else? Etsy!

From the site: Unlike most wall decals on the market, which are made of vinyl, check out these lovely stickers that are made of fabric.
Since they’re made of fabric, which means they are removable and reusable, they are perfect for children. Yes, you heard me right, the stickers are re-usable! They can be scrunched into a ball and will easily un-scrunch and re-apply to your wall, many times over. They are even washable, which is important when it comes to those precious yet impossibly grubby little ones! The stickers can be applied to almost any surface, and will not damage your walls.

Such a great idea and perfect for a girl who loves tea parties or paper dolls, a boy who loves cars or a new nursery.

Aren’t they all just adorable?!

Great Summer Must Have Products For Kids

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Summer vacation is 9 days away for our kids and we plan on visiting our new state’s beaches this summer. We love the beach, the sun and the sand as much as our kids do. There are some challenges with a baby on the beach, but we found some new products that are great for the beach and for our family.

Surfer’s Secrets was invented by two moms and a a dermatologist and it removes the moisture between your child’s skin and the sand, allowing you to just wipe away the sand easily without using water! I couldn’t believe how easy this was. No more waiting for the showers to be free to rinse off my kids, and ourselves. No more trying to rub off the sand with towels leaving my kid’s skin irratated, and best yet, no more sand all over my car!
Surfers Secrets is Talc free and has grape seed oil and aloe vera in it to help sun exposed skin. Go try some and I know it will be a staple in your beach bag like it is in mine!

The one thing I hate about all the strollers I have had, it that when the baby is reclined, the shade never fully covers the baby. I am forced to put a blanket over the baby to shade him from the sun but it is hot! Protect-a-Bub is a great sun shade that protects baby from the sun’s harmful rays with its 50 SPF protection!
Easy to use, this shade covers baby’s entire body. No more blankets that fall off or making sure you have a shady spot to park under. These great shades will fit any size stroller you have. Protect-a bub also offers shades for car seats. Also check out their blankets, swimwear and hats!

These are terrific products for all of your family’s fun in the sun!

School Bus Ride On For Toddlers

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

We have a love affair going on in our house with Little People. We have the villages, the barn and the zoo. At Christmas my son even became the owner of the Fisher Price Little People School Bus ride On. He loves getting on and off of it and riding around the house!

One button plays a stop and go on to school song and the two Little People in the front of the bus spin to the music. Press another button and hear the bus driver tell everyone to please sit down so we can go to school and another button is the horn. Press the two Little People in the front seat and hear them laughing. My son loves the pictures of Little People passengers on the sides of the bus and the colors of the bus, red and yellow, are bright and attractive.
The seat also opens for storage of whatever my baby needs with him at all times.
He loves being pushed around by his big brother or sister by the handle at the back and that handles was terrific when he was learning to walk. He would push that bus everywhere and think he was a big deal. A good toy for $34.99.
School Bus is for ages 12 months to 3 years, but I still catch my 6 year olds on it every once in awhile!
What is your favorite Little People toy?

The Un-Diaper Bag

Monday, June 1st, 2009

kokopax, llc was founded in 2007 in Henderson, Nevada by Sarah Spoor. While taking care of her four young children, Sarah was introduced to the vintage lightweight carriers her parents had used to carry her. Sarah and her husband immediately recognized the amazing benefits of being able to carry their infants so easily and still take care of their other kids, cook, attend school activities and travel freely. Sarah thought if they could develop a lightweight carrier that was as simple as the old ones, using fashionable fabric, that it could be a great combination.
After the carriers came the other great accessories kokopax carries.

I have the Garden Style Tote Bag. It is a perfect sized bag that is the perfect un-diaper, diaper bag I have ever seen. The problem with many “we-are-cute-not-diaper-bag-looking-diaper-bags” is that while they are usually cute, they don’t function that well.
This tote is made from a nice thick canvas that you can tell is very durable. The handles are attractive with the silver rings and rests comfortably on your arm. The tote features an attachable mini-tote, three deep elastic pockets, one large zipper pocket, a convenient key fob and bottle/beverage compartment.
This tote is surprisingly light!

I love this tote for an un-diaper bag or for a trip to the beach, boat or a lunch out with the girls. This will last you until your baby is out of diapers- and beyond!
