Finger Puppets

pupp.jpg

With all of these toy recalls, I am looking for something to buy my kids, um I don’t know, that don’t make them sick. This finger puppet set is just the right thing.
My kids love finger puppets. When they were small they loved just having them on their fingers, now they love to put on puppet shows behind the couch with them. That shows that this toy grows with your child, which I love.
This set comes with a finger puppet stage and six puppets. Bonus points that it is so cute.

Retro Clock

clock.jpg
I love to get my children toys that I had, it is nostalgia and fun all at once.
Remember this clock from Fisher Price? Teach your children to tell time, the same way you learned. Based on the 1962 version this clock plays “Grandfathers Clock” when wound. It has a handle to carry it and requires no batteries.

You can by a piece of your childhood back for $24.99!

Booster Seats

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

After your baby grows out of his infant car seat, you need to buy a bigger car seat, or a convertible car seat that turns into a booster. Children should be in a booster seat with a five point harness as long as they can be. With many booster seats, they just come with a five point harness until your child weighs 40 lbs and after that it is near impossible to find a booster seat with extended weight harness.

Go and watch this video and you will know why a five point harness is so important.
Did that shake you up? Yup, me too.

The Britax Regent is a great car seat, it grows with your child from 12 months to 8 years. It is well known for its safety and how comfortable it is. It is also very expensive at $270.00. I don’t believe that children can only be safe if their parents have money to buy these expensive seats.
For someone like me, with twins, that is an expensive purchase.
Now more and more car seat makers are making five point harnesses in seats that go up more then 40 lbs. Cosco makes the Alpha Elite Apex Seat which is $129.00.

It is for children from 22-65 lbs. It has a cup holder and is very comfortable. This is the one we are buying for our children.

I bleieve all car seat makers should be making their seats with extended five point harness system because seat belts can and do fail on impact. A child’s safety is never something to get cheap on.

Letter Pillows

esm.jpg

Did you watch the show Friends? If you did, then you may remember this letter pillow that Rachel had on the wall of her apartment. Letter Pillows are perfect fro spelling out your child’s name on a bed or a wall.

They come in so many different styles, colors, fabrics and trim. They come in 13 inch pillows or 20 inch pillows. They even make small doorknob pillows. These would be great for kids who share the same room or twins.

After the bib recalls from Toys R Us and Babies R Us, I know many moms who are scrambling to replace the bibs they lost. These hip bibs from baberoo.com maybe just what you are looking for.

They come with various cute sayings, from “I’ll have my people call your people” to “Hey baby, come here often?”
They measure 10 inches long and 14 inches across. They are soft and absorbent, two must have requirements for bibs. They are $15.00 for a three pack or $5.00 each.
Adorable!
