Pictures

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Since we live far away from all of our family and friends, we wanted to make sure our kids grew up knowing who everyone in their family was. When they are so small they don’t remember from visit to visit, so we made them each a photo album.

This Whoozit album is cute and perfect for little hands. It is colorful and each page holds a 4×6 photo.
pho.jpg

We had this Sassy Who Loves Baby Album. Again each page holds a 4×6 photo and at the end of this one it has a mirror.

These were great for car trips, at a restaurant and just to keep in the diaper bag. The kids never got tired of seeing pictures of their family and themselves.
we used pictures we had doubles of or that we printed out at home because we knew the kids were going to be hard on them. The pictures can get slightly bent, but that is the extent of the damage to ours.

This is a great baby shower gift, maybe even fill it with pictures for the new mom!

Lighted Nursing Pillow

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

bab.jpg

Every once in awhile I come across a baby products and I think, “It is not a necessity, but that is a great idea”. The Nurse-N-Glow lighted nursing pillow is one of those.

The pillow is for mothers who want to nurse in bed or perhaps co-sleep. It was designed by chiropractors to fit your baby comfortably. It has a LED light built in to give off a small glow when you do not want to try to latch on in the dark.

It would replace all those pillows on your bed and the dance you have to do to get everyone situated for a feeding.
It also has a pocket on the other side for essentials like creams or burp cloths. Perfect for people who do not have night tables.
It comes in two colors, yellow or blue.

Of course not a baby necessity, but it is a great idea.

So Cool, I want One!

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

I love Etsy. Creative people selling their creative, homemade things is heaven to me and I love to support them.

What I love more then Etsy though, is my kids being preoccupied when we are out, especially out for dinner. We have taken our twins out to eat with us since they were 6 months old. We bring toys, and snacks and even books, and we never stay and linger, kids get bored I understand that.

dine.jpg
These beautiful Placemates are perfect for that! They are called Dine N Doodle and they are place mats on one side and a chalk mat on the other. Kids can doodle, you can play tick tac toe, you can make masterpieces all before your entree arrives!
They are durable, stain-resistant and waterproof, perfect for kids and their moms.
They come in many adorable colors and styles, my favorite is the sock monkey pattern!

They also have a crayon keeper. Place your crayons or chalk in the little pockets and fold up. No more crayons stains on the bottom of your purse. This comes is many colors/styles as well.

Bilibo Seat

Monday, July 9th, 2007

bil.jpg

I have to admit, I have no idea what this really is or what it really is for, but I am intrigued. It is the Bilibo seat made for kids 2-7 years. It is a seat, it spins, it floats, it is a rocker, you can hide things underneath it.
It is a multifunctional seat that has won many design awards. It comes in six colors but the yellow one is $2.00 cheaper then the other colors for some reason. there are terrific reviews from parents on the site as well, so the seat must be more then just something cool too look at.

Does anyone have this? I would love to hear from someone who has used this or bought one for their child.

No More Plain White Socks

Friday, July 6th, 2007

Little baby shocks are probably one of the cutest tiny baby items you will purchase. They are soft and impossible tiny, you can never imagine any baby’s foot in them. Then when your child gets home and the socks are too big you realize just how small and sweet your baby is.

I wish they had these cute socks for my kids when they were babies.
Look at these adorable mary jane socks! Six different colors to match any ensemble.

Is your little one a ballerina? Then try these on for size.

Just so we don’t leave out the little men in our life, he can warm up with this six pack of sneaker socks. ball1.jpg
Too precious!

Rugs

rug.jpg

I love little throw rugs in nurseries. I think they add a bit of color and whimsy to a ordinary blue or pink room. These cute animal rugs from Tabulatua are just the thing for a plain kid’s room.

The rugs come in six different styles and are 24″ in diameter. They are a bit pricey at $80 but even one in a room would be adorable.

Jewels for a Jewel

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

Baby showers are fun, but buying for a baby shower is not fun. Sometime i go off the mother’s registry but other times there is nothing left when I go about buying something. I have made a diaper cake in situations like those.

I think if I am going to a shower and I just don’t know what to give the new baby girl, I will get her a jewelry box. It is a unique gift but one that she will love to fill up in years to come. I love these jewelry boxes by Pottery Barn Kids, I mean if PBK has it, how bad could it be?
If the mother has decided the baby’s name already get it personalized for $6.00 more.

Adorable, I want one for myself!
