Baby Food Carrier

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

jar.jpg
If you have just a big bag you use as a diaper bag, which I know many ladies do to get away from that pastel baby look, then you need as much organizing help as you can.

This baby jar and food organizer does just the trick.

This is a microfiber tote with a carry handle and different compartments for your babys jar food and fruit cups. No more rattling bottle and jars in the bottom of the bag and no more worries of spilling your baby’s food.

Tents

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

tebt.jpg

Kids of all ages love to hide and have their own space for kids only. My sister and I would make tents out of pillows and blankets or beach lounge chairs and towels. We would nap in the homemade tents, play with our toys or read in them. Nothing beats a nice homemade tent, but this would be cool too.

The Find-Me Tent by Pacific Play tents, are made of durable vinyl, which is easy to clean. It has a zippered tie-back flap door, two crawl-through portholes with roll-up flaps, and see-through mesh windows. It also comes with a bag which is great for storage or travel.

Inchworm

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

My Children each had a ride on and they loved them, but I didn’t. The thing I didn’t like about them is the same problem all parents have with toys, they were too loud with obnoxious noises and songs.

radioflyer_1959_513702.gif

This radio flyer inchworm is adorable though! It is for ages 2-5 and it weighs only 8lbs. Bounce up and down to make The Inchworm go.
Most store have this available later this summer, but www.redwagons.com has it available to ship now.
Better yet? No noise!

Baby Einstein

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

ein.jpg

When my children were younger they loved Baby Einstein DVDs. I am not under the illusion that my children will be *so* much smarter because they watched these videos, but a mom with twin babies needs a break sometimes. That time for me would be TV time for them. Once a day for 30 minutes they watched a Baby Einstein tape. They loved the music and bright colors.

A new Baby Einstein tape just was released yesterday, Discovering Shapes for children 9 months and up.
My children spoke early and have not shut up since, but if you have a late talker like my nephew who is 2 and still only says a few words, maybe this My First Signs DVD is for you. It is for 3 months and up and introduces 20 common phrases to baby.
I hope the 20 phrases include “when can I get a job” and “can’t I please use the toilet?”. You know, things moms really want to hear!

Potty Training on the Go

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

potty.jpg
My kids have been potty trained for about a year and a half now, but when I first trained them I worried about our long trips to my hometown. I bought one of these portable pottys.

They come with liners with an absorbent pad on the bottom, when you are done the sides tie up and throw it away!
I haven’t been able to find replacement bags but I use small garbage bags and you can use any sort of sanitary pads in the bottom.
It is convenient for long trips, or the beach or anywhere the bathroom isn’t close enough.
It comes with a carrying case and fit nicely in my trunk. I don’t go anywhere without it still, because my son is notorious for telling me he has to go to the bathroom 3 seconds before he actually does!

If you travel often this is a great investment.

Cool Diaper Bags For Mom

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

I, like so many other women, love purses. I have many in different colors and styles some designer and some are from the gap. When I was looking for a diaper bag I didn’t want a big oversized pooh faced bag that screamed “I HAVE A BABY” I wanted one that looked cool and wouldn’t tip that carriage over with its huge girth.

bag.jpg
I love these bags from jplizzy.com This messenger bag is cool enough for any mom and doesn’t scream baby. It has various pockets on the interior and exterior, comes with a changing pad and even has a key clip. It is made of quilted microfiber and is easy to wash. Believe me this is important in a diaper bag!

49_image.jpg

This tote is adorable too. It is roomy and fashionable. It doesn’t have a ton of pockets so maybe it is better for an older child. They even have tote sets if you need more room. These bags come in rocking colors.
These diaper bags are not cheap but could always double as a pocketbook or a beach tote after your little one is done with diapers. You could use these for years.

Jump for Joy

Friday, July 20th, 2007

jum.jpg
When we had the kids I received a hand me down jolly jumper or doorway jumper. It was just like I remember my younger cousins having.
As soon as my children were big enough and could hold their own head up, we put them in the jumper. They loved it, actually the sometimes even tired themselves out and I would find one or the other asleep in it!
This was great for vacation or going to someone’s house. It took up no room in the car and it was instant fun for the babies.
This was a great toy that I recommend for new moms.
The only problem with it, is that you need a large doorway. Even with our doorways I would always feel that they could smack their hand or fingers between the jumper and the doorway, and that did happen.

jump.jpg

After my kids were too old for it the jumper I saw this jumper in all of the stores. It is a stationary jumper that rotates 360 degrees. It is a bit safer but not as much fun. it has a ton of activities and toys on it, but it also costs quite a bit more then the doorway jumpers.

Big Time Beds

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

I am not the smartest cookie in the jar because when my twins figured out that “hey! we can get out of these silly little cribs”, I ran out and bought them toddler beds because I forgot our cribs turned into toddler beds.

bed.jpg

We bought them adorable pine beds and they love them although they will be moving into their “big” full size beds any day now.
If I had seen this bed, I would have bought this one instead.
I love the bench on the end for reading or playing. If your little one didn’t sit on it, I would use it as a book shelf.

Plus the sale price tag doesn’t hurt either!

Get More Out Of Tummy Time

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

mat.jpg

I was always looking for a way to keep my kids on their stomachs more for tummy time. If there was nothing to do they would get frustrated on their stomach and cry.
I found a pat mat just like this one from One Step Ahead and my babies loved it.

They can pat the mat and send fish swimming everywhere. It helps with babies tracking, cause and effect and hand eye coordination. You can deflate for storage and was great to bring when we traveled.

Traveling with Kids

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

As a person who has traveled with twins often, including 4 trips to Florida and a roundtrip 6 hour drive to New Hampshire before my kids even turned 3, I am always looking for tips to travel with kids. They last couple of times we traveled I saw parents using the Gogo Kidz Travelmate and I loved it.
car.jpg

The travelmate is and attachment for the car seat letting you easily wheel your baby in the car seat rather then carry the baby and the seat. It easily mounts onto the seat, it is only 5lbs and attaches to many of the popular car seats on the market.

I don’t think the travelmate is perfect for the occasional flyer, because it is not cheap at $89.99, but would be perfect for someone who has to fly often with a young child. This is much easier then wheeling a stroller down to the gate, taking your child(ren) out and folding it up handing it to the flight attendant and hope you will see it again in good shape. Believe me, I know!

Cute and Cuddly

Monday, July 16th, 2007

bunny.gif
Usually I write about things that are affordable for families. Our household went from a two income household to a one income household when I had the twins. It is an adjustment going to buying whatever I want, whenever I want and really to being on a budget and really now, I am just a Target girl through and through.

These stuffed animals are extravagant but they just are so cute. These Manuella dolls look so soft and comfortable that I would like to snuggle one. They come in five different animals and my favorite is the monkey!

Gerber Cereals recalled

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

productsm.jpg
Gerber just recalled their organic baby cereal because it may be a choking hazard. Yesterday they recalled all of the rice and oatmeal cereal because it can clump up and pose a choking hazard.

All codes of the two products, sold in 8-ounce boxes, are being recalled. The organic rice cereal UPC code is 15000 12504 and the organic oatmeal cereal UPC code is 15000 12502.

You should not feed your child any of this cereal and call Gerber at 1-800-443-7237 or 231-928-3000 to get a refund.
